Failed Payments

We understand the importance of a seamless transaction and can relate to how tiresome it can feel when you're having trouble registering for an event (especially one that can get sold out fast), that is why we have drafted this article to answer common questions you may encounter when paying on our website.

Why was my card declined
Why hasn't my bank transfer been confirmed
Why was my bank transfer reversed
Why was I charged twice
What is 3D secure

Why was my card declined?

If your card was declined or the transaction couldn't be completed, let's check a few things:
Your card number - Card numbers are usually 16 digits long.
Expiration Date — If your card is expired, you will need to use a different card.
CVV Code — This is the 3-digit security code on the back of your card.
Your card pin - This is usually the four-digit code you use to make payments using your card
Your one-time password - This is the one-time password sent to you via your bank (via text/email/hardware) to authorize the transaction.

Why hasn't my bank transfer been confirmed?

Usually, bank transfers confirm instantly within a few seconds. If not, here's what to look into:
Correct amount transferred: Ensure you sent the exact total displayed, as we won't receive partial payments.
Single transaction: For example, for a N5,175 ticket, send N5,175 in one go, not in separate transactions.
Transfer before expiry: Accounts are valid for 15 minutes; transfers after expiry won't be received.

If we need to reverse a bank transfer, it typically takes 1 - 3 business days, with some exceptions. Feel free to contact Tix support if you have questions.

Why was my bank transfer reversed?

Your bank transfer may be reversed due to a few reasons:
We didn't receive the money before the account expired, which can sometimes happen due to delays from the sending bank.
Incorrect transferred amount.
Technical issues and the event may be sold out.

Why was I charged twice?

If you see double charges, the most common reasons are either a declined transaction or if you purchased two tickets.

What is 3D secure?

3D Secure, often referred to as "3D Secure Authentication" or simply "3D Secure," is an additional layer of security for online credit and debit card transactions. It's designed to protect you as a cardholder from unauthorized use of your card when making online purchases. 3D Secure adds a step to the online payment process by requiring cardholders to complete an extra verification step, typically involving a one-time password or code, to confirm their identity.

How to enroll your card in 3D secure? To enroll your card in 3D Secure, the first step is to get in touch with your bank. They will guide you through the process of setting up this extra layer of security for your card.

What are the benefits of 3D Secure?
Enhanced Security: 3D Secure adds an extra layer of protection, making it more difficult for unauthorized users to make online transactions with your card.
Reduced Fraud: It helps reduce the risk of fraudulent transactions, making online shopping safer for you.
Peace of Mind: With 3D Secure, you can have confidence that your online card transactions are more secure.
